Too often, in our culture, grieving, and remembering our loved ones who have passed into the next world, is done alone. It is almost as though there were something shameful about sorrow. Yet everyone dies, and everyone who lives long enough experiences grief. In this two day workshop, participants will have an opportunity to share the work of remembering and grieving in a small group setting.
Participants will use writing and the arts to create memories of, and messages to, friends and loved ones who have died. The first day (9-4) will be focused on sharing stories and creating beauty to be incorporated into a shrine. The second day (9-1) will be dedicated to the creation, blessing, and activation of a communal shrine of remembrance for those lost.
Saturday, April 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, April 17, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Led by Jen Kristel and Michael Watson. Fee: $80.00, includes vegetarian lunch on Saturday.
Limited Enrollment.
